Kid's-friendly Decor. Tips on getting it right {1}.

Writer: chime chisomchime chisom

I do not have a kid, at least not yet but i've had to babysit them and though it's so fun to be around them, it's still work and that's why people get paid for it.

kids are a blessing but there are times one gets stressed-out from maybe looking after them or from work generally and all you want to do, is just lay down without having to hold another human weight. Other times, you might need to concentrate on whatever work you planned to do, or maybe, you need alone time with spouse, whatever the case may be, kids need to be out the picture but not out of sight of course.

kids have a way of creating a world that is free, fun, amazing and in this memory lane, there are no restrictions, dangers or what have you hence, there's a need for an adult to watch them day in, day out. Now, we supposedly have two different and opposing equations at hand but do not panick, the solution can be met with these few inspos. Aren't you glad you have me?

Create A Play Space in Your Living Room for them.

This means that whatever place you want to create a family, be it a rented apartment or you're building a family house, you need spacious and funtional rooms for you and your kids.

Make a little play area by just adding kids mat, furniture and kids stuff.

It's quite tricky to create kids area in a living room without ruining the decor so you might need a professional's assistant to create a balance here.

The idea behind this is to make them feel like they belong in the space cause the truth is, kids can be everywhere so you might as well organize a great spot for them.

Invest In Storage Boxes

For kids, there's no end to the amount of toys they can have. It's like their own assets on earth trust me.

Having so many toys does help but accidents can also happen with these toys all over the surface of your house and if you don't want a Home Alone scene of Kelvin against Marv and Harry, then invest in the storage of these toys.

Storage boxes could be plastic containers, wooven baskets, wooden boxes, fabric boxes, anything, the goal is to stow them away properly.

Ps; toys that are well kept can be resold in the future after your kids are all grown and you can also use the storage boxes for other home storage. It's an investment really. Also these storage boxes will help them learn how to organize their stuff.

Multifuntional Furniture

These furniture are like saviours in desguise. No rocket science really, just a bunch of woods fixed together that serve more purpose at the same time. All furnitures can be made to be multifunctional especially when you want to create a minimal and healthy space.

These can help you stow away your valuables from kids sight and reach.

Child Friendly Furniture

These are still made out of wood trust me. It's like creating an accessible entrance for wheelchairs at the other side of a stairway in the hospital for the handicap. For instance, the height of their shelf, table chair etc make these furniture kid friendly because of the extra thought put in creating these furniture to make them functional for kids. Another thing to keep in mind is, pointed edges on furniture are not kid friendly in any way. Just think "how can I make this home accident free/ safe for my kid?"

Recreate Their Imaginations

Kid-like imagination is the sole reason we have animations and animes and trust me, it's like adding butter to a toast [chef kiss].

I mean, what is human without imagination? The image you create of your future self is what we call dreams right? Imaginations all starts from when you're a kid and our legendary spider man, monster truck, cinderella charater are never out of trend.

It's seriously about helping them sleep better and creating a positive environment for great mental health. Truth is, if they're happy, you're happy, if they sleep better, then you'll sleep better.

Montessori Playroom

This room is not your regular playroom. This is where you make their learning easy and fun! If your kid likes to bake, this is where you create a mini kithchen with every utensil needed except these utensils are toys and much more colorful too.

I'm glad you scrolled down to this part. Would you like to share with us in the comment section your favorite room in a house? Where are you most likely to be in a house and why do you prefer that space?

I'll be waiting for you with my cup of tea to read your comment/ answer.
